Through the Eyes of a Child

I just wanted to add one more thing about the birthday party we had for Carissa. My sweet niece Meghan came up to Heber shortly after we celebrated Carissa's birthday. This is how the conversation went...

Meghan "Aunt Elisa, we missed Carissa's birthday party"
Elisa-"You did, well thats Ok, Meghan"
Meghan-"But we will come next year time"
Elisa-"That's good Meghan, I hope you can come"
Meghan-"We have to come, cause someone has to blow out her candles"

I thought how sweet...it is all about the candles. Little children are so pure and simple. Who cares about the presants, who cares about the gifts. It's all because you have to blow out the candles.

Meaghan and every other "Baum Grandchild" will forever be blowing out her candles. That is so sweet, oh to be a child again! I want to blow out the candles too. :)

Because our little stillborn son came the day before Kandra's birthday, she always put a candle on his birthday cake and blew it out for him. I'm glad you chose to celebrate Carissa's birthday. Though it's sad, it helps ease the pain.
